Preliminary Task
Our task was to create a short continuity piece, that would give us practice on using the camera, shooting different angles, using editing software and making sure our piece had perfect continuity.
We decided to shoot a short piece that would use a variety of different camera angles. We decided to make a plot that would resemble a thriller type story, as we have been studying thrillers as part of the course, and then make a twist at the end, in order to use as many different shot angles as we could.
Evaluation:
I feel that the piece used a variety of good shots and angles. Some shots were held for to long, but the editing over all was good.
I feel the music we used for the piece worked well in creating the tension and atmosphere we wanted.
As we only had a short time, and no skill or experience in making films, our piece was ammature. Our lighting could have been better if we had the right professional equipment.
Overall I feel that it was a good piece with reasonal editing and camera angles and shots, considering it was our first piece we have created.
In the future, I will use the skills I learnt whilst making this piece, like editing, the use of the camera, etc when creating new pieces.
The mistakes we made whilst shooting this piece have been a learning curve and i now feel that development has been made and with this experience, I can go on a produce better, high quality pieces.
